Meet William
William Retter joined Cohen Davis Solicitors in 2021 after graduating with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of East Anglia. Drawn to the firm's commitment to addressing the evolving challenges of modern law, particularly in the digital sphere, William is passionate about making a significant difference for those affected by online harassment, blackmail and defamation. He is currently pursuing his qualification as a solicitor at BPP University while working at Cohen Davis Solicitors. He is set to qualify as a solicitor in 2027.
William has experience in all areas of internet and social media law, including High Court injunctions, conferences, and complex litigation involving blackmail, harassment, privacy, and online reputational management issues. William has worked on several notable cases, including Aaronson v Stones [2023] EWHC 2399 (KB), and TJM v West Yorkshire Police. He now leads his own matters, overseeing them from initial instruction through to conclusion, including client liaison, strategic input and day to day case management.

Beyond his professional endeavours, William is committed to personal growth and community involvement. He is an avid golf rugby and hockey player, and he enjoys sailing. Additionally, he has an intermediate reading level in both German and French.
